<b>Players involved:</b> Kila, Sparx
<b>Characters involved:</b> Cyrus (Sparx), Kazu (Kila), Oliver (Sparx)
<b>Setting:</b> Eden
<b>Time:</b> Mid-morning, the 25th of Haliea
<b>Weather:</b> Sunny and clear, the day is starting to warm up, and there's a pleasant breeze
Kazu rushed through the halls of his manor, his pace never breaking into a jog. Commoners jogged, and he was not a commoner. He had thrown his study doors open, and a flurry of scrolls and books followed behind him, held aloft by the man's magic. Some fell to the floor with a clatter, but he gave them no thought; Cyrus would pick them up. He'd kept the man at his side since their meeting nearly six weeks ago. This was no time to think of his new, albeit rather unwilling, friend. He had been up since the crack of dawn, pouring over his notes, when the paper arrived.
And the news had him feeling sick.
Aerithe, Oracle of Zarkos, had died that morning in Prerio in front of an entire crowd of witnesses. It was believed she had suffocated, likely killed by her own god. It had only been three weeks since the wolf queen's death. Six since the human oracle's death. What did it all mean?
He had barely processed his decent down the stairs, and he was suddenly at the kitchen doors with barely enough time to throw them open with a wave of magic. Gods, he was tired.
"Oliver!" he said loudly--polite men didn't yell at their butlers, and Oliver could always hear Kazu throughout the house--as he made his way to the small table in the kitchen nook. There was no need for them to use the dining room; it was just the three of them, after all. "I need two cups of coffee, please, brewed strong, with cream and sugar. And a bottle of brandy, please," he paused and snapped his fingers, looking off into space as if he'd been struck by a grand idea, "Scratch that, make it a lot of coffee. I'll also need all the bacon and eggs we have. Oh, or brain food, perhaps? No. All the food. No, make what you think will be best." Kazu waffled between food options as he sat down, piling his scrolls and books on the table in front of him.
The bags under his eyes were dark against his fair skin. It was hardly a surprise; the man hadn't slept much in the past weeks, if at all, and the only decent sleep he seemed to get was when Oliver quite literally shooed him and Cyrus off to bed for a few hours. Kazu's study had begun to look like that of a madman's, with open books and scrolls marked with notes strung up on the walls, each one somehow connected to the oracle deaths. It was maddening. Absolutely maddening! And they kept dying!
They needed to stop! Dying!
And where the hell was Cyrus? What could be taking him so long!
"Cyrus, we have work to be doing! Another one died!"

<b>Characters involved: Aerithe, Hiro </b>
<b>Setting: Prerio City </b>
<b>Time: Early morning, Haliea 25th</b>
<b>Weather: Overcast</b>
<center>
<p>Hiro stretched in his bed. He hadn't opened his eyes yet, taking the time to feel how comfortable his bed was. As nice as traveling is, a good bed can make you feel more rested than ever before. <b>"Good morning, Aerithe--"</b> He said, finally sitting up, only to find a messy bed where his traveling companion had been when they went to bed. <b>"Good grief, off already, and didn't wake me up? She'll probably be waiting, I better hurry."</b> He said to himself, Stretching again and forcing himself to get dressed finally.</p>
<p>Walking out of the inn, and paying for their room. <i>(His treat, as he had promised when they got in,)</i> He started to notice something odd about the day. Mainly, the sort of gossip that was flowing that day.</p>
<b>"Another Oracle dead, and this time, right in the square! Here!"
"I saw the whole thing-- Poor girl, What a way to go."
"Do you think the gods are gonna tire of killing their oracles and go for us instead...?"</b>
<p>Hiro felt a pit in his stomach, a bubbling rock of fear, but quickly dashed it. Aerithe must have been kept back because of all this gossip downtown. That must be it. If she was an oracle, she'd have told him, wouldn't she? Sure, they've been only traveling for a few weeks, but with all this business with the oracles, for sure she'd tell him if she was an Oracle.</p>
</p>... right?</p>
<p>Still unable to completely quell the fears, Hiro moved toward town square. There had to be a description of this Oracle. That way he could put these fears to rest and continue traveling with Aerithe. He had to. They'd for sure have a big laugh about this. Because she's not dead. She couldn't be, because she's not the Oracle. at all.</p>
<p> There it was, the noticeboard for the town. and sure enough, there was the big notice about the Third Oracle dead. Hiro squeezed his way through the crowd eager to see the news. The crowd reeked of fear and unease, but there was also morbid curiosity-- even for the most stubborn in their disbelief in gods, these had to be interesting news.</p>
<p>Hiro read the notice.</p>
<p>And his world shattered.</p>
<p><b>"... Aerithe?"</b></p>

<h3><div class="h3-underline">News and Updates</div></h3>
It’s been a month without update, but the wait was hopefully worth it. We have a bunch of news, so bear with us as we go through it. One of the biggest things is….
<h3><div class="h3-underline">Happy Birthday Antarsia!</div></h3>
A new year, and Antarsia has survived our first year! We couldn’t have done it without all of you guys, so thank you from the staff to you!! Staff has been working hard to bring new material to you guys and we really could not express how much it has meant to go on this journey with you all. For our 1st birthday, we have a few new things to celebrate our birthday! One of which is our god, Tharamos, has gotten into the birthday spirit. His skin has been updated to celebrate our birthday month. Go check it out!
<h3><div class="h3-underline">New Badges!</div></h3>
Staff cannot express how much they appreciate everyone, so a new awards system has been installed to show just that! These awards are badges in the shape of triangular gems that each represent a different achievement! This can range from contributing to the site to participating in an event, being active in our Discord, etc. To kick things off, it is Antarsia’s 1st birthday so everyone will be receiving an award for being with us as we celebrate! If you have not received this award, let Achera know! It will be available to all who have logged in during January.
<h3><div class="h3-underline">New Species, Curses, and Creatures!!</div></h3>
Please welcome the Nymphs, Seedlings, Sol’teras, Gargoyles, and Or’rix to our species page! The Nymphs were worked on by our very own @Immortal Cyan & @King Fury while the rest were done by @Kila! We also have Mimics that have been added to our curses page done by @Andromeda!
Bellonese have also gotten their artwork updated! You can thank our wonderful @Kila for that!
<h3><div class="h3-underline">Plot Update!</div></h3>
Oh no! A third oracle has died! Aerithe, oracle of Zarkos, died publically in Prerio City square of what many believe to be suffocation. Find out what happened in When Air Suffocates.
<h3><div class="h3-underline">Timeskip!</div></h3>
The site time has moved forward to the 25th of Haliea. Please update your threads accordingly to reflect the new time.
<h3><div class="h3-underline">Revamped Character Information!</div></h3>
To better help with navigation and Discord integration in the future, this section of the forum has been reorganized a bit. The Chat with Staff section has replaced the Questions section of the forum. While you can still ask questions on the forum, you can now do so in the Chat with Staff section! This section now includes Moving/Closing Threads, the Item Usage Tracker, and the new Add Characters to Guide thread! Anything that requires staff action will be placed in here.
The Looking for Threads and Thread Trackers section has now been changed to Looking for Threads and Plotting. Thread Trackers have moved to the revamped Character Journals and Thread Trackers section.
We also have introduced Wanted Ads! If you are looking to fill part of a character’s family, a new lover, etc. this is where you can post your request. This can be found in the revamped Character Adoptions and Wanted Ads.
<h3><div class="h3-underline">Add Characters to Guide!</div></h3>
I mentioned this in the previous section, but this new thread is to help staff add your characters to the Character Directory! After characters have been accepted, the role-player is expected to post a small forum to this thread so staff can add them to the directory. You can check out the new section here.
Why fill a form? The coding we use can be complicated to keep adding characters to when we do 20+ at a time sometimes. So to make things easier, this little form breaks the information up so we can assembly-line the info into our code!
<h3><div class="h3-underline">Guidebook Revamp!</div></h3>
The guidebook has reverted back to Tharamos’s Reign once more. It also has had the navigation rearranged so it makes more sense and easier to navigate. There have been a few new inclusions to various sections of the guidebook, so go take a peek!
<h3><div class="h3-underline">Newbie Guide!</div></h3>
After what feels like forever, we finally have a newbie guide! This will help new members or potential members get an idea for how to navigate around the site. If you have any suggestions, feel free to ask a staff member found in the blue color!
<h3><div class="h3-underline">Content Updates!</div></h3>
The Legends page has been updated to include 4 new legends, courtesy of @Kila. The Items page is also being revamped to include more thorough descriptions of some missing items we had in the shop.
<h3><div class="h3-underline">Credits Page Added!</div></h3>
How have we gone this long without one?? Well fear no more! Check out our new credits page! We have all the credits for everything anyone has done to contribute to the site ranging from artwork to code, species, creatures, and more. It is broken down based on who is the original writer and who did edits if it was writing. If writing or artwork was done for our species and creatures, credits now appear under the basic information. Thank you everyone who has contributed. We couldn’t have done it without you!
<h3><div class="h3-underline">Discord Integration!</div></h3>
We’re a big community on using our Discord, but we also have areas on the forum to use! So to support this, we have found ways to integrate our forum into Discord a bit better. These changes will be happening over the next month, but look out!
One of the biggest things is when someone posts in a specific area such as Looking for Threads, a message will show up in the Discord in the corresponding channel. This is to encourage you guys to post more to those areas on the board! Remember, you get gold (the site’s currency) to use for shop items when you post on the site!
We have also switched our cbox replacement from TitansEmbeds to widgetbot.io. It should provide a better experience to chat from the forum, so I encourage you all to use it! You can sign in with your discord there too, so it’ll be posted from your account with your name and avatar, just with BOT next to it! Widgetbot will allow for more fun features, so watch out for those as well slowly add them!
Mee6-kun is back! After Mee-kun worked so hard to give us levels along with Tatsu-kun, staff realized we didn’t need 2 leveling systems, so Mee-kun has been quietly waiting for a job. Well, staff is glad to bring back Mee-kun with Antarsia Fun Facts! These will be facts posted 1-2 times a day that reflect small facts about… well just about anything Antarsia related! This can range from info on the species to the gods, stuff staff did when contributing, to really anything! Enjoy and let Mee-kun know how much we’ve missed them!!
<h3><div class="h3-underline">Referral Program!</div></h3>
Staff is excited to announce our new Referral Program! There are fun rewards to claim the more members who are referred by you! This can be redeemable for any member who has joined started January 1st, 2018 and will be available permanently. More information can be found in the Referral Program thread.
<h3><div class="h3-underline">Map Update!</div></h3>
The maps of Antarsia have been updated to include all recognized locations in Antarsia. This include landmarks, shrines, cities, villages, and more! Every location that has a written description is now on the map, so go check it out!
We hope that you all enjoy the new features and thank you once more for celebrating this birthday with us!!
On a more serious note, this is a reminder to please read our rules once more. Staff has been informed of users joining that do not follow the rules or are below the age requirement. These rules are in place for a reason. Should anyone be found in violation of these rules, both the party involved and the party who has brought them to the site will be handled accordingly.

REFERRAL PROGRAM
Here on Antarsia we know each and every member is important in our ever growing family. We value the time and effort people put into either advertising for the site or mentioning their friends to come stop by! To show our appreciation, we have our Referral Program. There are different tiers based on how many members you bring in, but also for each member who joins and uses you as a referral!
How does it work?
For every member that puts your name as their referrer, both the referrer and referred person will receive 200 gold. No matter how many times you bring someone in, that will be an amount you receive every time per member. For example, if you get five to even sign up and try our site, that is 1,000 gold to spend in the shop. To encourage activity, if the referred member becomes active in the site and stays for six months staff will give both parties an additional 500 gold.
Tiers
5 referrals - An extra 1,000 gold!
10 referrals - Any item from the shop!
15 referrals - Auto-plot position! (Your character will be accepted automatically if you apply for a plot position so long as staff doesn't see any problems with the app.)
20 referrals - Ability to create a royal from any species excluding Tarsians!
30 referrals - Custom artwork from Achera! This can be
40 referrals - Ability to create the limited release tarsian!
50 referrals - Favor from a god!
There are also tiers to how many members you bring in. For every five members you bring in, we are willing to give you a 1000 gold. Now this offer is for anyone, member or staff!
How to Claim
To claim a referral, you must have the person who you referred post on this thread. They must state that you were their referrer and that’s it! Staff will add the gold to your account afterwards or contact you about your reward if you unlocked a new tier. If you have gained a new reward such as an auto-plot position, it will be logged in the Item Tracker that you have it for use.
Disclaimer: People who are found cheating will be disqualified from participating in this. Depending on the severity, gold and tier rewards may be stripped as well.

<b>Players involved:</b> None
<b>Characters involved:</b> Aerithe, Hiro
<b>Setting:</b> Prerio City
<b>Time:</b> Midnight, Haliea 25th
<b>Weather:</b> Cool and foggy with a chance of drizzle
She had seen it in a dream, weeks ago in the Bera Forest.
"You will die," Zarkos had told her. "But do not be alarmed; it will be alright."
The next morning, Aerithe had tried to tell her companion about her strange dream, but found herself unable to speak. It seemed as though the Gods did not wish her to speak. Perhaps Zarkos wasn't even supposed to give her warning, as he'd fallen silent. Still, Aerithe could feel his presence in her dreams, though he said nothing.
They had reached Prerio City without incident, and now Aerithe wandered the streets in the relatively quiet night. In a city so immaculate, she felt safe--safe enough to forget the dream that had plagued her mind for weeks. There was a quiet nightlife in Prerio. No drunken brawls of pickpockets--only people playing cards in taverns, enjoying chats with other patrons. It would have been nice if Hiro could have joined her, yet he had been asleep in their room when she'd been awoken by an odd feeling, so she'd slipped out into the night to think.
Her chest ached, and she felt her heart beating heavier than normal. She scratched at the gems on her chest, between which rested the constellation of her god, covered by makeup to conceal her status. No matter how much she scratched, the itch wouldn't be satisfied. It wasn't under her claws came back bloody that Aerithe forced herself to stop and try to ignore the persistent itch. Was the constellation burning, or was that simply the sting of fresh scratches in the chilly night air?
A wave of anxiety washed over her. Go to the center of town, something told her, and she obeyed.
Under the flickering light of the lamps that lined the streets, the fountain in the square had been painted in oranges and golds. There were more people here than on the side streets, sitting in benches around the square, or even on the fountain itself. None of them seemed to pay her any mind as she hurriedly walked to the fountain, her breathing heavy. Her hands broke the surface of the water, cupping what she could before splashing it up into her face. Her fair complexion had paled beyond normal; her reflection ashen and pallid. Now the townspeople had begun to pay her mind.
"Are you alright, miss?" A woman asked, her voice far away.
Aerithe's head was swimming, and as she turned to answer the woman white-hot pain shot through her body. She doubled over, writhing, as the pain spread and intensified. She lurched off the fountain, hands and knees hitting the paved square. Her breath left her in shuddering heaves. A crowd had gathered around her now, whispering their hushed concerns.
"G...get ba...ck..." Aerithe choked out between gasps. Her body lurched again, and this time she felt something in her body snap. The pain in her body exploded, and the woman was forced from her human form, skin turning deep blue as her body transitioned from human to dragon, her scream morphing into a roar that bellowed throughout the quiet streets. Citizens jumped back from her flailing serpentine form. Her tail lashed out, shattering part of the stone fountain. Water sprayed everywhere. Someone screamed for a guard.
"Look! Her chest!"
The constellation of Zarkos burned on her chest, no longer hidden from sight. From there the crowd of onlookers began to speak among themselves in less than hushed tones. "Another oracle!" "Is she dying?" "What's going on?" "Someone do something!" "Don't get too close to it!"
She couldn't breathe.
Aerithe tried to scream. As her mouth opened, the air around the square stirred. A visible twister tore from her maw, and she thrashed in an attempt to breathe, her head frozen in its skyward position.
Oh gods... she would be the third oracle to die. The thought terrified her as tears streamed down her cheeks.
Her chest burned as she struggled to draw in air, and her vision slowly faded as she lost consciousness, her eyes open, unfocused, and unblinking. Each second ticked by agonizingly slow, and all the crowd could do was watch in horror as Aerithe suffocated.
As the life drained from from body, the words of Zarkos resonated through the dragoness' very soul: It will be alright.
Take care of Hiro, she pleaded.
It will be alright.
With those words, she surrendered herself into the hands of her god, and her soul passed through the veil into the beyond. The body left was nothing but an empty shell, devoid of life. The twister vanished into the night, and the corpse fell to the ground, now silent and still. Her death had only taken mere minutes, but it had sent shock waves through Prerio. She had seen it in a dream, but the people had seen it firsthand.
A third oracle had perished, and the city fell into an unearthly silence.

Character's Name:
Tabassum Mandeep
Nicknames:
Hooked Mistress, Blind Huntress, Aurora of the Deep
Age:
2340
Gender:
Female
Species:
Leviathan
Abilities:
Physical: Hooked tendrils able to cut rock and shoot a mile in a second.
Magic: Uses water magic to 'see' and swim better
Visual Displacement when using bio-luminescence, making it difficult to pinpoint her location.
Shape Shifter Genes: Can shape shift into a Western Dragon.
Appearance:
The one and three fourths miles of her body is covered in a semi-opaque, bio-luminescent skin, the vast and hypnotic color shifts and patterns leading those who have seen it from afar to compare it to the Aurora Borealis. Although she does have scales, they are vestigial and only stands to increase the similarity, causing the light to split and sparkle. Because of this along with a natural magic, she always seem a small way off from where she actually is, although she is injured more easily than her truly scaled brethren.
Her gaping maw has numerous tendrils within, each able to lash out a mile in the blink of an eye, snagging any prey with the cruel, barbed hooks that sit at the end of each. Further in there are a dozen small arms, positioned so they can maneuver the meals into her throat. Bordering the edge of her maw are several hundred needle like teeth, extending such that when she closes her mouth, the jut out before her. Her eyes are the dead, empty affairs of a being to whom the light of the sun is unknown.
Personality:
Due to her extended isolation, her thought processes are even more disjointed than her kin's, causing her to jump conversationally sometimes. She finds the pain of others amusing, often 'toying' with her meals before she eats them. She doesn't take particular interest in the happenings of the world, instead preferring to try and spread terror, wishing to become a menace of mythical proportions. Due to her small size, she hides from larger creatures, for they could all be something looking to eat her. The exception is if she is certain she has enough of an advantage to win any conflict, in which case she hides only to strike out when the time is right.
History:
Whether from poor nutrition before birth or some sort of defect, while others stayed near the surface as youth, she went down to escape those who wished her to be food, down until they couldn't see her. Here she stayed, eating the glowing critters and feeding off of the organisms surrounding the thermal vents. Because most thing there relied on trickery or size to get food, as she grew, she became adept at ambushing her prey. This, coupled with her diet, left her a sort of glass cannon, hooks able to slice through rock but with a vulnerable hide.

Character's Name:
Cain Dixon
Nicknames:
Rouge
Age:
800
Gender:
Male
Species:
Sol'tera
Abilities:
Energy Conversion - Cain can convert potential energy into kinetic energy. Translation? He can blow things up with his mind. Thankfully he doesn’t have the best control of the mind part yet, so Cain often has to touch an object for it to be made explosive. The size of the explosion is proportionate to the size of the object. The bigger the item, the bigger the boom.
Pyrokinesis - Cain is great with fire magic, which is good for the people around him because of his knack for carelessly starting fires. This occurs with regular frequency, and honestly he probably spends more time putting out fires than actually manipulating them. It's a real problem.
Enhanced Senses - Like all Sol'tera, Cain has great eyesight, hearing, and a killer sense of smell.
Physical Endurance - Like the rest of his race, Cain is strong, fast, and powered by the sun.
Luck Eater - He has the unusual ability to steal the luck of other people, or give his his to them. He can even choose which luck he steals, good or bad. To steal your luck, all he has to do is touch someone, skin to skin contact. This is, admittedly, his favorite ability. It lets him cheat in cards.
Personality:
Cain is an interesting man. He detests going by his given name, Cain, and insists on being called by his nickname, Rouge. He is a social fellow, and is naturally drawn to parties and cookouts. He adores cooking for such events, since food brings people together. His tastes are...eccentric to some, and the spicier the food is, the better, and he's even known for carrying around his own blend of spices for use at any time. He's fond of a good stiff drink with friends
He's fast to make friends, and likes to keep his friends close. While not a people pleaser, Cain will do his best to keep the people he deems friends happy. He has a large soft spot for women, and will try to woo them even if they're taken. He lives for the challenge. This soft spot doesn't just stop at pretty women. Cain likes men, too, and he has stolen them from women on a few occasions.
While not vain, Cain does have his fair share of flaws. Despite being a social person, if he grows tired of his current company, Cain will simply wander off in search of new entertainment, even in the middle of conversation. Especially if he dislikes the people he's with. He is loud and boisterous, particularly when drunk. He also has quite the gambling problem. Cain doesn't know when to quit, even when losing. He has to be pulled away in order to get him to stop. Too bad it's only a quick fix. Cain will always go back for more, and he hates losing with a passion. He also has a habit of sweetening the bet, which might be why he also has a thing for men...
Cain has a hot temper and a slow fuse. This is a dangerous combination, as little things can set him off if the conditions are just right. Being alone is his worst enemy. He needs to be with people, because when left to his own devices things tend to ignite unintentionally. He doesn't take shit from people, and is incredibly good at picking fights. He takes pride in his physical fitness, and boasts about his strength. Unfortunately he doesn't have the best control of his powers, and a lapse in concentration can cause things to ignite or explode.
A good liar and a smooth talker, Cain has a silver tongue that can get him out of trouble--and deft hands that pick the pockets of others. He's not above a few petty crimes, and his moral compass is more of a roulette wheel than an actual compass.
History:
Cain was born to a pair of very wealthy parents. They were often too busy to care for him, and instead he had a nanny to tend to him. This wasn't something he minded, and he regarded the woman as a surrogate mother. She taught him much of the world and of his people. Eventually Cain's parents had a second child, a daughter. Shortly after her birth their mother died, and Cain's father began to dote on his sister. Acting out, he became a wild child who only minded his beloved nanny. Sadly, his nanny had to return home to care for her own ailing mother, and her departure crushed him. LEft with a father who he felt didn't care for him, Cain packed up his most treasured possessions and left home, never looking back.

Altair's Character Page
Character's Name:
Altair
Nicknames:
Alta
Age:
16
Gender:
Male
Species:
Sol'tera
Abilities:
Altair, like all Sol'tera, possess enhanced physical attributes. Sight, hearing, smell--all are more acute than a human's. The energy absorbed from the sun through his tattoos fuel his power, and even store it as a reserve, making him quicker, more agile, and stronger than human. His wounds heal faster, and even his magic is amplified thanks to the sun's energy. This has a drawback, however. Altair becomes extremely ill when away from sunlight for prolonged periods of time. He also has an uncanny ability to tell what time of day it is, regardless of whether he's in or outside.
He's been gifted with fire magic, and has decent enough control over it. He lacks the finesse of his elders, though, and regularly trains to better his control and focus.
From a young age, Altair has been trained in the use of multiple weapons and hand to hand combat. He's clever and resourceful in the field, and knows how to use his surroundings to his advantage. While still young and impatient, he's drilled every day to keep his skills sharp and improving.
Appearance:
Altair is a lean young man of slender build standing at roughly 5' 10". He's got the body of an athlete, and he's proud of it. He's been trained in every art known to man, from swimming and gymnastics to parkour and archery, so he's rightfully proud of his physique. His skin is a rich, warm tawny skin, reminiscent of desert sand. Against his skin, his eyes and hair stand out in stark contrast, being a dusty golden color. He believes he got this unusual color from his father, though he wouldn't know, as he's never met the man. Even more unusual about Altair are the dark red tattoos that cover his skin. They extend along his spine to the nape of his neck, along his arms and chest, even his legs, in long bands and thick swirls.
These tattoos are a sign of great shame for him, not because he was forced to get them--they are very much a part of him as his eye color--but rather because his tattoos mark him as what he is: a Sol'tera. He's only ever been met with hatred for desert people, so to blend in, his clothing hides as much skin as possible. He wears a simple hooded black shirt (with long sleeves, of course), and leaves his hands covered with grey gloves. The bracers on his wrist contain hidden blades that release quickly for surprise attacks, and Altair is never seen without them. Around his neck he wears a grey mask, which he can pull up to cover his mouth and nose. His pants are a plain grey color, held in place with a thick belt containing many pouches. The pockets of his pants contain all manner of weapons, mostly projectiles and small blades. His boots are made of study black leather, and they too contain hidden blades. Tied around his waist is Altair's heavier jacket, black on the outside with a red interior lining. When he runs, this flows behind him almost like a cape, giving him a rather animated silhouette.
Personality:
Altair is a bright, vibrant boy who often acts first and thinks later. He was trained to act a certain way while on a mission, and he excels at it. He's patient, deliberate, and leaves no trace of his involvement. Unfortunately for Altair, and his teacher, this behavior is only when he's on a mission.
Being young, Altair is often prone to being moody and arrogant. He knows he's skilled, being the youngest of Ezio's student's to complete their training, and this has made him rather cocky. He wears his heart on his sleeve, and it's easy to tell when he's upset or pouting. Being young, he falls hard and fast, and is easily wooed by a pretty face. He can be vain, and even a little selfish at times, even petty. He can often be quick to anger, and often holds grudges.
While young and impulsive, Altair is generally a kind boy at heart. He's fast to make friends, and prefers to give people the benefit of the doubt. Most of the time. He still bears many conflicted feelings about his parents and his mixed blood.
History:
Altair was born in a village on the outskirts of the desert where tensions ran high between the villagers and the sol'tera. The sol'tera often raided and robbed the villagers, and in turn, the villagers fought against every sol'tera to enter. His father was a sol'tera, his mother a woman who enjoyed the drink.
She was quick to abandon her dark skinned infant to an orphanage.
He lived on the streets for much of his early life, fighting other orphans for meager scraps. It was only when he turned three that a man took him in. A man who would soon become his mentor and father figure: Ezio. Taken under the man's wing, he was trained to be an assassin; give an aducation he otherwise would have never been able to receive. Altair loves his father figure with all his heart, and gladly does whatever is asked of him.

Character's Name:
Patina
Nicknames:
Teenie
Age:
250
Gender:
Female
Species:
Sphinx
Abilities:
Purification - Patina is particularly good with her purification magic. She can draw toxins out of just about anything, and this includes curses. Her curse removal skills are a family trait, and Patina herself has a special interest in curses because of her love of magical items.
Keen Magical Senses - Patina's magical affinity has seeped into all of her senses, from physical to mental. While she has keener senses of sight, hearing, and smell thanks to her race, she also possesses enhanced magical senses. This allows her to detect lies and sense the motives of others around her. More importantly for Patina, her ability lets her sense and track strong magical auras.
Knowledge - While not inherently a skill, Patina has a wide array of general knowledge. She's passionate about learning and getting her paws on every single book she can. Sometimes this can get a bit overbearing for those around her, because she's enamored with sharing the trivia she knows.
Metallurgy and Gemology - Patina has some minor control over metals and gems. She usually only uses this ability to determine what makes up a material. This is particularly helpful in her line of work, and allows her to identify forgeries.
Enchantments - She's got a knack for magic. Patina is very good with wards and other arcane magics. With enough practice, and time to study, she can learn a great number of spells.
Acrobatics - Patina's wings are a little too small for her to sustain flight, but she's an excellent glider, and quite good in the air.
Personality:
Adventurous - Patina was born with an incredible wanderlust. She lives to explore and learn all of the secrets of the world. She yearns for new places, new people, and new experiences. Patina will try anything once, especially food. A bit of a glutton, she'll eat until she's full and then some. She rarely stays in one place for long, even her own home, and the more dangerous and mysterious places of the world call her name quite loudly.
Quirky - To those who don't know her, Patina can be rather... odd. She has a fondness for riddles and questions, and when bored she'll ask the nearest person a riddle. And then another. And another. Her thoughts are often moving very, very quickly, and she often talks out her thoughts, jumping from one train to a similar one and so on. She displays many feline behaviors, like rubbing her face on corners or wiggling her butt when excited. She sniffs every book she reads, no matter if she's read it before or not. New books, old books, she says all have a unique scent. This particular habit extends to other read things as well, including scrolls, menus, and even maps. Another strange habit of Patina's involves her feathers; she saves the ones she molts and chews on them while thinking.
Intelligent - Patina is very, very smart. She seeks to pursue knowledge and artifacts. These are the things she loves to collect, especially items steeped in history and magic. The more she can add to her personal library, the happier she is. Her intelligence has also made her clever and resourceful. If she can't physically beat an opponent, she'll outwit them. Unfortunately, she can lose herself in her studies, and she occasionally values books more than people. She's still looking for someone who can beat her in a game of chess.
Excitable - Despite her calm, cool exterior, Patina is easily excitable. When she finds a treasure, her eyes light up, and she can't help but wiggle and grin. She's especially chatty when excited, and her words flow together. All sense of personal space is lost, and Patina has been known to jump on the nearest person.
Greedy - Patina has a bit of a greedy side. She has a love of all things shiny, rare, and magical, and she's not too keen to share many of them. She hoards away her personal favorites in her private library. She, at the very least, makes copies of the rare and ancient texts that she finds for the grand library. How generous of her.
Amiable - At the end of the day, Patina is incredibly friendly and social. She's made many friends over her travels, and frequently stops to visit them. She's quick to make new friends, even if some are put off by her riddles and odd behaviors. She has a natural cheer that's almost contagious, and her optimism is something she considers one of her best qualities. Patina will always seek out a way to cheer up a gloomy friend!
History:
Patina was born to a librarian and a historian. From a young age she was surrounded by books and other artifacts. It was only natural that she inherit her parents' love of history. When she became old enough, Patina set out on her own to purchase an empty house for her to fill with treasures gathered along her journey. She set out on a quest to fill her library, and has been on the road ever since.
