<b>Thread Status:</b> Closed
<b>Players involved:</b> None
<b>Characters involved:</b> Var, Enkratis wolves
<b>Setting:</b> The Enkratis packlands, near the den and the Saihithe Marsh
<b>Time:</b> Early morning as the pack rises, no one has gotten much sleep. The month is Ganthor and the day is the 45th out of 50.
<b>Weather:</b> Clear skies in the wee morning hours, with more clouds rolling in as the day progresses. It's cool and pleasant, with low humidity.
There was a distinct feeling of wrongness in the air.
It had set the wolves of the Enkratis pack on edge, and the den was buzzing with speculation on what could be wrong. Earlier that night their leader, both queen and oracle, had gone out on a solo patrol. Now the gentle rays of the dawn sun were cresting the horizon, and she had not returned. This was unlike her, and the pack now circled, whispering in hushed voices over what to do.
The sky had lightened to a pale baby blue by the time it was agreed upon that a group would spread out over the territory in search. Var was the last to leave the den, having watched several of his pack members scatter in all directions to cover the vast amount of land that made up their territory. Mercifully, another wolf had offered to search the land bordering with angel kingdoms, so the great black wolf headed out, following the river and heading towards the lake.
Word of the human oracle’s death had reached the ears of Katakarthia’s wolves, though none could recall having heard much of anything. Few questioned the old wolf if he’d ever heard of such a thing, but Var simply shook his head--though now he wondered if the disappearance of their queen had something to do with the other oracle’s death. Whether it be a hunch or instinct that drove him towards the lake, the feeling of unease in Var’s chest grew and tightened.
The west side of the lake looked clear. The scent of their queen was old; she had passed by here hours ago, most likely for a drink, but the trail now lead north along the lake’s shore. There were wolves already searching in that direction, so Var turned tail and traveled along the lake’s southern shore.
The reeds and tall grasses of the shore tickled his belly as he walked, eyes scanning the horizon for anything out of the ordinary and ears swiveling at the slightest sound. Perhaps he was just feeling paranoid over the welfare of his queen, but Var continued to be unable to shake the feeling that something had gone horribly, terribly wrong.
It was the howl that shattered the silence that froze him mid-step, his blood running cold.
The queen had been found.
Grass fragments sprayed out behind him as Var ran, his massive form little more than a black streak against the verdant green of the landscape. He crossed through the mash, wading chest deep in some places, and spotted a gathering of wolves as he rounded the northeast bend of the lake. They stood around the queen, summoned by the howl, their tails low and ears back.
Something was terribly wrong.
The queen sat motionless, facing the water, eyes open and glassy. She was unresponsive to the licks and nudges of the pack members attempting to check her over. Var gave a low growl, shooing them back with his body.
“Give her space,” he said, voice low. “Your Majesty? Is everything alright?”
It was as if his voice broke a spell. The queen’s head turned, her eyes meeting his, and as she opened her mouth to speak, her body seized. Eyes rolling back in her head as she convulsed, the queen’s legs buckled under her. The wolves around her gave startled yelps as the queen’s body bent and twitched unnaturally.
She held herself up by her front paws, barely, and opened her frothing mouth to breathe. It was a horrific sound, strained and gurgling. She wretched up water, struggling for breath as the wolves around her panicked.
“She’s drowning!” someone yelled.
“Does anyone know water magic?”
“What’s going on?”
The queen’s legs slid out from under her. Her chest swelled as though she were breathing, though no air entered, and her body went limp as her mouth clamped shut.
The wolves stood still as stone, watching. Waiting. The queen’s mouth opened one final time, pouring water through her gaping maw as though she were a living fountain. The life drained from her eyes, and the water kept flowing, with no sign of stopping, pooling around her body and flowing down into the lake.
The silence persisted for what felt like hours. No one dared move. No one spoke. No one breathed.
“What...what happened?” questioned one of the younger wolves, finally breaking the silence that weighed down oppressively on all of them. “Var?”
“I-I…” Var stammered, meeting the eyes of the wolves who now looked to him for guidance. He was the oldest among them. He had known the queen since she was young, offered her solace when her parents had died, and now she too was dead… “I don’t know…”
“Did Feaya kill her like Jackroth killed the human oracle?”
“I don’t know…”
He hoped not...

Character's Name: Wellesley
Nicknames: Wes (or Wes-Newsman)
Age: 126
Gender: Trans Male
Species: Kelahati
Abilities: He can shift between his cat form and his human form. He has an affinity for cats and can communicate with them effortlessly. He is incredibly charismatic and can sway the public with his words. He is incredibly lucky. Adept at Sanshou (or the Antarsia version)
Appearance:
Cat form: A medium sized, short-haired, black cat with two perfectly circular white spots on each ear. His ears are large stick upwards instead of sideways, like other cats with big ears. His eyes are green and upturned, elongated for an almost fox-like look. He has a long face (think the Oriental breed), and a long tail.
People form: He's 6' tall, with a wiry build. The hair on his head is short and black, his ears are large cat ears that stick up instead of sideways, and are black with perfectly circular white spots. His face is long, his mouth wide, with full lips. He has a heart-shaped face, high cheekbones and upturned, elongated green monolid eyes. He is light-skinned (pantone 70-7C) with brown undertones and the ability to tan under the sun instead of burn. He has long limbs, and long, elegant fingers. His nails are perfectly manicured. His teeth are white, with elongated canines and black gums. His tongue is long and rough, like a cat's. He has a broad bridged nose, with the triangular nose of a cat which is darker brown than the rest of his face. He has regular hands and feet, no claws, and no tail. Besides the cat features in his face, he is, for all intents and purposes got the body of a regular human of similar height and build. He has thin top surgery scars and a thin scar down the middle of his abdomen just under his navel.
Personality: He's considered a funny man by those that like his humor. All other people think he is incredibly facetious and has no place running a newspaper. He has a good sense of humor, no matter what anyone says, and tends to take everything he's told with a grain of salt. Genial, Wes is likely to give someone the benefit of the doubt before becoming aloof. He has several cat tendencies that carry over into his behavior as a humanoid. He likes knocking things off edges, sitting on freshly cleaned laundry, being pampered and scent-marking things. Granted, he does curb these behaviors around strangers and business partners. He's incredibly candid, and has no problem with telling people like it is, but because he's incredibly social, he knows there are times to be candid and times to hold back. When he is angry with someone, he bristles visibly, and gives a warning growl should they approach him. Disliked people are met with the cold shoulder, and Wes distancing himself as best he can. When someone can't take a hit, they find themselves laid out on the floor. He is a lightning fast striker, and can kick powerfully. Incredibly acrobatic, he can sometimes be found in bone breaking positions. He likes to climb and run and can be found jogging when not assembling the day's news or performing. He prefers eggs and shrimp to just about any food, but won't turn down any meats. He is not fond of cheese, but appreciates cream in small doses.
History: Born and raised in Yfrelo, he's seen at least two generations of humans grow within its walls. At an early age, he was a busybody, learning all about the city's news, wanting to be in on all the freshest news. He quickly became known for his sense of humor, and started a paper with a humorous, but fair slant on daily events. Friendly with all the neighborhood cats, they are ultimately his sources. His parents were a constant source of strength and support for him. Though they moved to a warmer clime, he visits them on holiday and frequently exchanges letters with them. His mother is obsessed with his love-life, hoping he meets "somebody nice". His father is obsessed with his business, wanting to know how he is faring what with competition and all.
He started transitioning when he was an adolescent with the help of a friend at the mage's college. Through his paper, he earned enough to fund a trip to Katakarthia where he visited a famous angel surgeon by the name of Naasir. It was there he got his top surgery and total abdominal hysterectomy done. After his recovery period of almost four months, he started up his paper again.
When a certain human ran for City Leader, he was one of the first newspapers to back the man. He coined the term Winning Smile, for the City Leader Graham, and because of his favorable coverage, was endorsed for his troubles. This means he gets official statements from City Hall first and fresh from the mouth of the source.
He spends his days now doing weekly shows at the local theater stage and vetting his journalist's articles for the day's paper.

Character’s Name: Belle
Age: 61 years old
Gender: Female
Species: Kelahati (goat)
Appearance:
Belle is simple in appearance compared to others in the realm and compared to other kelahati, she is on the more feral spectrum of the species. Her body is covered in a creamy white fur with cloven hooves instead of feet. On the top of her left hip on the front, she has a small patch of brown. She has hands like a human, though instead of fingernails, she has small hoof-like ends that when pressed together, appear like a single hoof. She has creamy yellow-like horns that curve out of her head and down towards the sides of her cheeks, similar to horns found on a ram. The only difference is that her horns are considered smooth.
Her ears are big, but not floppy like some goats. She tends to use them to help express her emotions. They’re located on the inside of her horns as her horns hug around them. Her eyes are different from most where her left eye is a bright, canary-like yellow with amber flecks throughout it while her right eye is similar to that of the inside of a lime. Below her yellow eye, she has a small black fleck that she sees as a freckle. Her tail tends to stand up straight and is rather fluffy like a deer’s tail.
Personality:
Belle is seen as a quiet, goodhearted individual. She is not one to look for trouble and often will tend to herself to stay amused. She prefers to enjoying the natural beauty of the world that is provided rather than living near the cities or other kingdoms that have taken over. Belle isn’t one to engage in fights, but rather prefers to be the mediator if possible. Usually, she will let others go at it while she stays clear of that kind of trouble. When she gets a chance, Belle tends to the young and old in the area.
Abilities:
She shares the same abilities as most kelahati have with her affinity for wild magic. She is able to communicate with animals and calm down beasts. On occasion, she can command them as well though she refuses to use this kind of power unless it is in the best interest of the creature. She is best in tune with the land, deriving from her wild magic abilities. Like all kelahati, she can turn into a feral form that has the same appearance as her bipedal form.

Character's Name:
Aziza
Nicknames:
Azi
Age:
74
Gender:
Female
Species:
Sphinx
Abilities:
Telekineseis:
Aziza is able to move objects by only using the power of her mind, giving her the ability to lift or most things without touching them. Though size and weight of objects affect this ability greatly. The larger or heftier the object, the more strain it must upon her mind.
Aura-reading:
Able to read another's aura, Aziza can pick up on the smallest to the biggest of things when it comes to others. As this ability is much more honed, she can tell the intent of others; along with being able to know whether or not their words are truthful.
Aura-purification:
The ability to purify auras come in handy sometimes, as the aura of others can be disturbed or they can pick up unwanted energies and influences. Though she does not do it often, or really at all, she is able to help purify those unwanted energies and such; clearing and normalizing one's aura to how it's suppose to be.
Personality:
Aziza is very shy and anxious when she first meets people, keeping herself on the more quiet side and allowing herself to listen more than speak. She isn't the kind to approach anyone at first as she hates the hassle of trying to make a good introduction, but will willingly talk to someone if they approach her first. The woman will mostly keep to herself, finding places she can easy hide herself away and read; or even just to sit and think if she likes. Though, when the initial ice is broken and she hangs around another long enough, she is able to set aside that shy outer shell of hers. When she is around those she enjoys the company of, she is very sweet and polite; elegant in her mannerisms. Always one to have a smile on her face and will do anything to make sure her loved ones are happy. Aziza can be a little bit goofy at times but it overall just a very caring Sphinx. Though she is shy about socializing, she certainly isn't when it comes to her body. This can be seen in the clothing she likes to wear in human form and how she wears nothing around her chest when she is in her normal Sphinx form. The woman isn't embarrassed of the shape or her body and is quite fine with herself, so she certainly doesn't lack in any self-confident; or self-esteem either. She is not one to hide her body due to judgmental minds or unkind words. Her body is her own and she owns it with pride.

Verbena Larkspurson |

Verbena's character page
Character's Name:
Verbena Larkspurson
Nicknames:
Vera, Beni
Age:
30
Gender:
Female
Species:
Bellonese (centaur)/Unicorn Hybrid
Abilities:
Verbena has incredibly speed and endurance. She can run for miles without tiring, and this had made her a formidable hunter of large game. While not very strong, her kicks can deliver quite a blow. She primarily fights with a spear, though she's untrained and rather clumsy with it.
The little magic that Verbena has comes from her unicorn blood, and is focused through the gem on her palm. She specializes in earth magic, and particularly focuses on making plants grow stronger and healthier, increasing their yields. She hasn't figured out how to use this offensively, and her magic is still rather hit or miss.
Appearance:
Verbena is a Bellonese, meaning from the hips down, she has the body of an animal. In her case, she has the body of a horse- specifically a mustang.
Her human half is very petite, with slender delicate features. She has a round race, with large violet eyes, a straight nose, and small purple lips. Her skin is an odd color, being magenta in color. Under her eyes, and crossing the bridge of her nose, are two horizontal teal stripes. Her right arm has darker purple bands and stripes, as well, a similar pattern to her horse half Her thick hair is so purple in color it appears black, and she keeps it in an elegant braid that falls down her back. She covers her torso with a simple deerskin shirt, with straps that hang off the shoulder. This shirt is decorated with beautiful fringe. Verbena wears a turquoise necklace, the the center stone being very large and oblong in shape.
Her horse half is also rather petite, and her coat is a grey color. She is patterned with grey-ish purple and magenta stripes that run horizontal along her body, with her tail matching the color of her hair, and being similarly braided. Her hooves are gemstones, specifically that of the wild horse gem. This gem is also present on her right palm, and along with her unusual coloration, is a sign of her unicorn heritage.
Personality:
Verbena is still very young, being only an adolescent. She's incredibly unsure of herself and her abilities, and as such struggles with self esteem issues. This isn't helped by her horse half, which is difficult to fit into buildings specifically meant for humans. This makes her hesitant to interact with many humanoids, simply because she doesn't want to inconvenience anyone.
She's a bit of a nature lover, to put it mildly. Having grown up outdoors, Verbena has an immense respect for nature and the natural world. She knows quite a bit about plants and animals, and she puts this knowledge to use by creating salves, poultices, teas, and tinctures. She considers herself an amateur herbalist, and is always striving to learn and improve. She's very outspoken when it comes to preserving the natural world, and believes that man and natures need to coexist.
Verbena is highly spiritual, and prays often, particularly to the pure gods, who she believes are the very nature around her. While she tries to be tolerant of those who do not believe in the gods, she finds it very difficult, and simply can't understand how they cannot believe, as the oracles themselves are proof of the gods' existence.
A gentle and free spirit, Verbena loves nothing more the to simply let her hair down and run free. Athletic by nature, she's fond of letting loose and just playing games. She's quick to flee from conflict, and is perhaps a little naive. She spooks easily, and it's easy to startle her, especially from behind. Verbena's nerves on on a razor's edge, and she usually seems to be on the brink of running in terror.
History:
Verbena was born to a bellonese man and a unicorn. Her mother, a unicorn, was seen as good luck by her people, though many feared that a time would come when she would have to leave for her own safety. Her father was a well mannered and quiet man who found work as an herbalist, and passed his love of gardening on to his daughter. She was very happy with her parents, and especially loved it when her mother would tell her stories of unicorn forests in far off corners of Sleibte.
But word of a unicorn among the small Bellonese tribe inevitably spread, and it was decided that Hennessey would need to leave and return to her own herd. Larkspur and Verbena said their tearful goodbyes, and promised that they would see each other again.
Now old enough to help fend for herself, Verbena and her father set out in search of Hennessey's unicorn forest. The two set off, but were unfortunately separated by a landslide in a mountain path. Verbena on one side, Larkspur on the other, her father told her to keep going, and that they'd find each other again. So Verbena traveled on alone, constantly searching for both her mother and her father.

Character's Name: Benjamin Zelah
Nicknames: Ben
Age: 5512 years
Gender: Male
Species: Terror Demon
Abilities:
Shapeshifting. As a royal demon, Ben has the ability to shapeshift into four different creatures. All of his forms look mostly like real creatures, but when looked at closely almost seem like they are made of smoke or shadow.
They are as follows:
Condor. A very large black vulture with a bald head and neck, and some white feathers on the underside of the wings. His he approximately four feet tall with a ten foot wingspan.
Python. A nineteen foot, 410lb snake with a dark brown and black pattern.
Bear. A shaggy black creature with massive teeth and claws. He stands at 5'5" at the shoulder and weighs 500lbs.
Chimera. A strange, primarily black creature. He has the body of a lion with a short, scruffy mane and larger than normal teeth. From his back sprouts the head and neck of a goat with long, sharp, and straight horns. In place of a tail, there is a long and mean-looking viper.
Shadows. Ben's strongest magic involves darkness, primarily shadows and illusions. He can manipulate shadows as physical beings, such as to create shields or spikes, so long as there is light to create the shadow. Using shadows to engulf his body he can camouflage himself in darkness. Finally, he can create illusions, especially nondistinct things that appear to be in the distance or in the corners of one's eyes, making people believe they see things that aren't really there.
Air. Ben has limited control over air magic, allowing his to create small, difficult to hear sounds that are similar to noises like whispers, or whistling that is only just low enough to be unheard by most species, but high enough to give a strong feeling of unease (infrasound).
Fire. Ben has some practice in producing and manipulating fire, but lack discipline has left him with poor control over it much of the time.
True form. As is the case with terror royals, Ben's true form is an amorphous shadow that appears as a viewer's worst fear. As a royal demon, Ben possesses a personalized weapon drawn from the essence of his true form. Currently, his appears as an ornately carved staff for channeling magic that can be pulled apart to create two short-bladed swords.
Appearance:
Ben is a fairly large man at 6'3" and 215lbs, his weight coming both from working muscle and a bit of extra pudge around the stomach. He has dark, rough skin with a fair amount of body hair distributed all over. His posture is usually abysmal, and he is almost always slouching or leaning on something.
Like the rest of his body, Ben's face and head are covered in short, black, curly hair, which often appears quite messy. His beard covers a great deal of the edges of his face and creeps around his mouth, but not enough to create a mustache. Thick, expressive eyebrows loom over his shifty yellow eyes. Ben has a long, squarish face with a downturned nose and some hints of lines around his mouth and eyes. Both his teeth and ears are long and pointy, as are his claw-like fingernails.
Ben likes to wear dark, baggy clothing that gives him an undefined shape. He mostly wears blacks and dark browns with red and gold accents. Scarves, cloaks, and capes are his favorite types of accessories, and he is rarely seen without at least one of these.
Personality:
Arrogant. One of the most obvious things about Ben is that he thinks very highly of himself. His confidence is more than excessive, and he definitely has some delusions of grandeur. He believes he is or has the potential to be the greatest at the skills that interest him, he thinks he has somehow earned greater things than others, and overall has the idea that he is just better than others in most ways, and he is not shy about expressing these feelings to others without regard of who he is talking to.
Self-centered. Adding on to his arrogance, Ben largely thinks only of himself. Empathy is not his strong suit by a long shot, and he will always put his needs and desires before anyone else, no matter what. He always wants to be the center of attention, be it positive or negative attention, and if he is not, he will either find a way to make himself so, or complain about it loudly. It is difficult for him to understand, or at least remember, that people act and think differently than he does. As far as Ben is considered, he is the most important person in the world, the world revolves around him, and everyone is like him or wants to be like him.
Obtuse. Probably coming from his lack of empathy, Ben is extremely insensitive and obnoxious around others. He often speaks without thinking about the consequences or accuracy of his words, and usually the words that come out of his mouth are offensive or begging confrontation. Everything about him is loud and harsh, and even on the occasion that he is acting somewhat well-behaved, he is usually not very pleasant to be around. It seems as though he is either always trying to anger or upset others, or he is too dense to realize that he has this effect on people.
Reckless. Ben's bad habit of acting without thinking is not limited to running his mouth. He is also prone to impulsiveness and strings of hastily made decisions. These usually come up in the form of indulging morally deficient hobbies, heavy drinking and casual flings being only a few examples of the trouble he regularly enjoys. He either does not think or care about consequences, possibly because they have not caught up with him yet.
Resourceful. Despite the above, Ben does manage to possess a positive trait that is probably the reason he has managed to live successfully for so long. It is difficult to tell without knowing him, but Ben is very intelligent and skilled at absorbing and processing information. Though his memory is usually lacking, if something interests him or he thinks it might be useful for personal gain, he will remember it. He is also very good at using what he knows to get what he wants, as well as finding new ways to get the things he wants, and creating shortcuts to the things he wants. If he especially wants something, he can even mask the above traits to appear like a person worth supporting in order to enlist help in getting this thing, though he is rarely so ambitious.
History:
Ben was born into the royal family of terror demons, though only barely; he was some sort of distant cousin to the monarch at the time, several dozen successors away from inheriting the throne and little more than a noble with a fancy pedigree. He grew up as most high class children do, with little to worry about, the concerns of war kept at a distance, and a fancy education. His parents were not especially remarkable; his father was a bit strict, balanced out by a doting mother. This upbringing likely nurtured his naturally selfish and entitled personality.
Though he did nothing especially notable for many years, at some point he became interested in politics when other terror demons began whisperings about how the current monarch was not satisfactory, not doing enough for the people, not living up to their nature, not gaining enough ground in the war. It was around this time that Ben decided that he would be much better suited to the position as head of house, and he definitely wasn't going to get it through normal inheritance, so he would take it by force, which would look much more impressive anyway. It did not take long for Ben to convince himself that only he could be the king that the terror demons deserved, and he took to manipulating others into believing the same.
After a long campaign of gaining support and gathering information, Ben finally launched a coup d'état, ambushing the crowned royal family and those closest to them and succeeding in the overthrow primarily through shady tactics and a lot of luck. Through this victory, Ben laid claim to the throne and promptly ditched the charismatic act, using his newfound power to fulfill selfish desires. His desire to prove that he is great has somehow kept him afloat in his position so far, mostly through bolstering the military for the war and taking as much as he can from others in order to have something to show for his own kingdom. He has precariously managed this hazardous rule for a bit more than a hundred years.

Dream magic is his specialty, and he has the ability to peer into and enter the dreams of others. He can manipulate the dreamscape of others, even going so far as to instill nightmares in others. He primarily uses this ability to delve into the subconscious of others to figure out what sort of enchantment would benefit them.
While not gifted in elemental magics like the rest of his family, Yaqon can manipulate metal, which is quite handy in his profession as a jeweler. He can bend mental to his whim, into whatever shape or length he wants. He can even manipulate molten metal, though he cannot melt it himself, and needs a source of heal to do so. He uses this to his advantage in battle, as his weapons are small brass three-pointed stars. He extends these out in circles of nine stars around each wrist, which he shoots out at opponents and calls back. Getting close to him is difficult, and requires dodging a lot of sharp metal shrapnel.
Like all demons, he can shapeshift into three animals. He takes the forms of a magpie, a komodo dragon, and a moray eel.
Appearance:
Standing at 6'1" with a well muscled build, Yaqon is a hard man to miss. With a sturdy posture and muscular arms, the man looks like he's able to fight a bear and win bare handed. The assumption isn't far off, as Yaqon spends a lot of time doing manual labor at the heat of his forge, bent over and focused. He doesn't see the sun much, and so his skin is a pale color, ranging around ivory to peach, on most days. He has a long face with a square jaw, and slightly long, pointed ears. His eyes are almond shaped, and quite striking against his skin, and shine a beautiful, bright yellow. His hair is white as snow, kept short and rather messy on top, with a long ponytail in the back. From stop his temples, Yaqon has two horns, navy blue in color, with veins of yellow snaking their way through, looking much like a gemstone. He has a fondness for jewelry, and wears a large gold hoop in his right ear.
Yaqon is not overly fond of clothes, and can often be found shirtless, with only leather sleeves on his arms, ending at his hands in fingerless gloves. This displays his muscled chest and back while he works, and he can often be found drenched in sweat. When out an about he throws on a wolf-skin cloak. The cloak itself is black, and adorned around the collar with orange fathers, fastened with delicate gold chains. The cloak ends in a long, bushy tail, tipped in white. He wears a simple pair of black cotton pants, over which he wears white leather chaps, strapped with several leather belts and golden rings. His boots are calf high, and covered in golden colored metal, giving the toe of his boots an extra oomph when he kicks.
Around his hips he wears a black sash, styled to look like wings, and studded with golden brass. This allows him to manipulate them, acting as a second set of hands.
Personality:
To put it lightly, Yaqon is the worst demon.
He's incredibly friendly and sociable. A very amiable man, Yaqon prefers to avoid conflict. His demeanor is very bright and cheerful, and everything about him is warm and inviting. This is partially because he's constantly suppressing the demonic aura around himself, as Yaqon detests inspiring fear in those who don't deserve it. He finds it wasy to get along with just about everyone, something which is very, very good for business. He's cool and collected under pressure, and finds he often does his best work while under pressure.
When it comes to his work, Yaqon is diligent and detail oriented. He handles projects and commissions with great care. He is incredibly detail oriented, and takes the necessary measures to get things just right. His organization skills are top notch, and he has a steel trap for a memory. Though at times he can be a bit of a perfectionist, and this can slow down his work considerably. As an artist, Yaqon is prone to creative slumps and blocks, which drives him mad. To push through this, he turns to local gardens, where he sketches and paints whatever strikes his fancy. Though the longer his art blocks last, the more cranky he's been known to get. He has a good eye for the arts, and appreciates it in all forms, though he has a particular fondness for paintings and sculptures.
His work ethic, unfortunately, only extends to the things that interest him. Outside of work, Yaqon is very lazy (or an energy conservationist, as he calls it). If he can put something off, he will, and his procrastination is an incredibly nasty habit that has a habit of coming back to bight him. In addition to that, he has a rather intense hoarding problem. Not in books or trinkets, but in gems and jewelry materials. He has am immense love for anything shiny, and feels compelled to collect as much as he can. He finds it difficult to let pieces he's crafted go, but reminds himself that buy selling them he can continue to buy more gems to make more jewelry, and the cycle continues. His hoarding has been likened to that of a dragon.
History:
Yaqon was born to very high ranking noble terror demons, and as the eldest child, had immense expectations placed upon him. His childhood, while not unpleasant, was strict and demanding, with little freedom. This didn't sit well with him, and so Yaqon began to rebel, doing everything except what his parents asked.
His love of jewelry and crafting began when his mother took him to be fitted for an outfit, and they passed by a jeweler's shop. Yaqon became enamored with the jeweler, and how he worked to delicately place glittering gemstones within a brooch to make a beautiful work of art. From that moment on, he was devoted to learning everything he could about crafting. This disgusted his parents, who did everything to discourage Yaqon from pursuing this path. Becoming a lowly craftsman was not the life for their son, and when Yaqon insisted, his parents kicked him out, turning his attention to his younger siblings.
Striking out on his own, Yaqon found it very difficult to make a living, but her convinced the very jeweler he saw that day to take him on as an apprentice. He has much to learn still, but shows incredible promise.

Zagaht's character page
Character's Name:
Zagaht
Nicknames:
None
Age:
80
Gender:
Female
Species:
Kelahati/Fire Elemental Hybrid
Abilities:
Zagaht as complete mastery over fire, being a fire elemental hybrid. She can manipulate flames around her, as well as light fires with a single glance, and is even capable of absorbing flames to increase her own power and stamina. She is capable of producing immense amounts of heat, and her flames are capable of rendering just about anything to ash. This takes quite a bit of power, however, and renders her very, very weak.
Her body can burn so hot that it becomes impossible to get close to her, rendering close combat impossible. Wind magic only intensifies her flames, though water poses a challenge.
Her kelahati magic is very diluted, and Zagaht can only tell when the soil needs replenishing. She's incapable of growing much of anything, but has been known to set fires to forests and fields long overdue for them. She can speak to animals, and finds them preferable to humans in terms of conversation partners.
Appearance:
Zagaht is truly an unusual sight to behold. As a kelahati, her humanoid form is more animal than human, looking much like a wolf on two legs, muzzle and all.. She stands at an average height of 5'10", with her form being incredibly slender and lithe. She looks rather malnourished, as her limbs are incredibly thin. Her body is covered in a layer of thin fur, a purple so deep and dark it looks black, with her belly, nose, and paw pads being a much lighter purple. Her body is covered in ornate markings in this same color on her arms, legs, and neck. Her eyes are a solid yellow color, with no discernible pupil, though she is not blind. Her long hair, burnt orange in color, is swept back into a short, thick ponytail that's constantly flowing upwards from the sheer amount of heat put off by her body. Long strands hang free, some of which are braided. Her tail is similar in color, and is long and bushy. Both her hair and her tail are constantly surrounded by a fire-like aura. While the fire produces heat, it does not burn.
The only thing she wears for clothing is a short red elbow-length poncho, which carries over into her wolf form as well.
Her wolf form is similar to her bipedal form, with the same markings, same mane color, and same fiery aura. This form is slightly larger than the average wolf would be, with long, stilt-like legs. She is constantly surrounded by a fiery aura, and is always incredibly warm.
Personality:
Zagaht is a very shy individual. Crowded places make her nervous, and even though she has a bipedal form capable of speech, she remains silent. Not from crippling shyness, but from her speech. Her mother, a fire elemental, had a very slow, drawn out speech pattern, with drawn out s sounds. Zagaht speaks much in the same way, and her embarrassment at her unusual manner of speech has rendered her a selective mute. It takes a great deal of trust in someone for her to feel comfortable speaking around them. Instead, she communicates in gestures and signs.
Earning her trust is a slow process. Her lack of speech and shyness makes it hard for her to make friends, so she often finds solace in quiet spaces. She's often very cautious and hesitant to act, and many think she's a coward for it. Zagaht just prefers to be thoughtful and deliberate, even if it means things take longer to do. Once she's made up her mind, she'll follow through on whatever it is she's set out to do. Though when things don't go according to plan, it can throw Zagaht off, and leave her scrambling to compensate.
In spite of her trouble making friends, Zagaht is a very kind, gentle soul. She is, without a doubt, a great listener, and offers great advice (provided she trusts you enough to speak). Being mute has rendered her very independent, and Zagaht rarely needs to rely on others for much of anything, save for companionship.
History:
Her mother was a fire elemental, her father a kelahati, and their marriage was a unique one to say the least. Her birth was a miracle, and from a young age it was clear that Zagaht took after her mother more than her father. Her mother began teaching her to control her flames, for her protection and for others. She has a healthy respect for flames, and understands that they are as much alive as many creatures. Her training was intense and extensive.
Zagaht has only recently set out on her own.
