Naiome felt true fear at the moment as she realized this battle would keep going until someone forced it to stop. She knew Aolani would not be the one to make that call. Would she kill her? She wasn't entirely sure. She knew this dragon was her high priestess but did that mean she was completely going to keep her safe? Her soft blue eyes widened a bit as the fangs snapped near her face. "Instincts?" She said her voice was very high as she responded feeling a bit of fear.

Her first instinct was to get out of there. Her blue eyes narrowed a bit as she tried to focus on what was going on. Her nostrils flared and she growled softly not so much threatening but it sounded almost as if she was trying to convince herself. Naiome took the head butt and tried to bite the other dragon's horn trying to hold her close. At least then she should be able to hopefully make some move in the battle. This was her vain hope to keep her from getting too much room for moving around and attacking as she wants.

Fangs closed around one of her pearlescent horns, and Aolani gave a deep throaty chuckle in response. “Good! You’re starting to use your head,” the dragoness crooned. But it wasn’t enough. Perhaps if they were hatchlings such a tactic would work, but Aolani was a full grown dragon with power and grace.

In an instant she reared up and flung her head towards the sky in a powerful rippling motion; a test to see if Naiome had the grip to hold on or the reflexes to right herself as she fell. Aolani waited, eyes watching with pupils reduced to mere slits of black in an endless blue.

Naiome did not have the flexibly or knowledge to hang onto the other dragoness when she reared and she felt her teeth fall of her horns as her grip failed her. Instead, she found herself falling herself from her tactic going bad. She felt her wings flapping at the air and her claws gasping as the air and finally, she twisted her body realizing she needed to do something or she would end up on her side or worst back during this spar.

She landed on her stomach instead but not on her legs. It was a learning curve. She would need a lot of work but yet she was starting to learn. The curve was steep, but it was a climb she was making slowly. Instincts slowly coming in and things she would have learned if she had a sibling was slowly forming. She pressed her self low to the ground, wings pinned to her side once more. She growled and swatted at the other dragon's paws trying to off-balance her while her tail came around to try to swat her side.

Good, she was learning!

Unfortunately for Naiome, Aolani had a sibling, and the stance she had taken was all too familiar. When the younger dragon swatted at her, Aolani simply moved her paws away and doubled down as she sunk her claws into the earth below. And when Naiome struck her with her tail she took the blow.

One of the perks to being such a long dragon was a long neck, and the reach that came with it. As soon as Naiome’s tail made contact, Aolani’s head whipped around with jaws ready to clamp down on her student’s tail so she could throw her around like a rag doll.

Naiome felt so happy to feel her tail connect but that feeling soon became dread as she felt teeth sink into her tail a bit. The pressure caused her to make a yip that was often associated with pain. It would have told Aolani to let go if they were playing as kids. Too bad they were not kids, and they were not necessarily playing.

The young dragonness tried to throw her weight at the other dragoness hoping it would force her to retreat at bit or at least make her let go of her tail. She was worried that at some point this training would become an actual fight. Or was it already? She wasn't entirely sure anymore. She roared at the priestesses aiming her ice breath at her.
