Dream magic is his specialty, and he has the ability to peer into and enter the dreams of others. He can manipulate the dreamscape of others, even going so far as to instill nightmares in others. He primarily uses this ability to delve into the subconscious of others to figure out what sort of enchantment would benefit them.
While not gifted in elemental magics like the rest of his family, Yaqon can manipulate metal, which is quite handy in his profession as a jeweler. He can bend mental to his whim, into whatever shape or length he wants. He can even manipulate molten metal, though he cannot melt it himself, and needs a source of heal to do so. He uses this to his advantage in battle, as his weapons are small brass three-pointed stars. He extends these out in circles of nine stars around each wrist, which he shoots out at opponents and calls back. Getting close to him is difficult, and requires dodging a lot of sharp metal shrapnel.
Like all demons, he can shapeshift into three animals. He takes the forms of a magpie, a komodo dragon, and a moray eel.
Appearance:
Standing at 6'1" with a well muscled build, Yaqon is a hard man to miss. With a sturdy posture and muscular arms, the man looks like he's able to fight a bear and win bare handed. The assumption isn't far off, as Yaqon spends a lot of time doing manual labor at the heat of his forge, bent over and focused. He doesn't see the sun much, and so his skin is a pale color, ranging around ivory to peach, on most days. He has a long face with a square jaw, and slightly long, pointed ears. His eyes are almond shaped, and quite striking against his skin, and shine a beautiful, bright yellow. His hair is white as snow, kept short and rather messy on top, with a long ponytail in the back. From stop his temples, Yaqon has two horns, navy blue in color, with veins of yellow snaking their way through, looking much like a gemstone. He has a fondness for jewelry, and wears a large gold hoop in his right ear.
Yaqon is not overly fond of clothes, and can often be found shirtless, with only leather sleeves on his arms, ending at his hands in fingerless gloves. This displays his muscled chest and back while he works, and he can often be found drenched in sweat. When out an about he throws on a wolf-skin cloak. The cloak itself is black, and adorned around the collar with orange fathers, fastened with delicate gold chains. The cloak ends in a long, bushy tail, tipped in white. He wears a simple pair of black cotton pants, over which he wears white leather chaps, strapped with several leather belts and golden rings. His boots are calf high, and covered in golden colored metal, giving the toe of his boots an extra oomph when he kicks.
Around his hips he wears a black sash, styled to look like wings, and studded with golden brass. This allows him to manipulate them, acting as a second set of hands.
Personality:
To put it lightly, Yaqon is the worst demon.
He's incredibly friendly and sociable. A very amiable man, Yaqon prefers to avoid conflict. His demeanor is very bright and cheerful, and everything about him is warm and inviting. This is partially because he's constantly suppressing the demonic aura around himself, as Yaqon detests inspiring fear in those who don't deserve it. He finds it wasy to get along with just about everyone, something which is very, very good for business. He's cool and collected under pressure, and finds he often does his best work while under pressure.
When it comes to his work, Yaqon is diligent and detail oriented. He handles projects and commissions with great care. He is incredibly detail oriented, and takes the necessary measures to get things just right. His organization skills are top notch, and he has a steel trap for a memory. Though at times he can be a bit of a perfectionist, and this can slow down his work considerably. As an artist, Yaqon is prone to creative slumps and blocks, which drives him mad. To push through this, he turns to local gardens, where he sketches and paints whatever strikes his fancy. Though the longer his art blocks last, the more cranky he's been known to get. He has a good eye for the arts, and appreciates it in all forms, though he has a particular fondness for paintings and sculptures.
His work ethic, unfortunately, only extends to the things that interest him. Outside of work, Yaqon is very lazy (or an energy conservationist, as he calls it). If he can put something off, he will, and his procrastination is an incredibly nasty habit that has a habit of coming back to bight him. In addition to that, he has a rather intense hoarding problem. Not in books or trinkets, but in gems and jewelry materials. He has am immense love for anything shiny, and feels compelled to collect as much as he can. He finds it difficult to let pieces he's crafted go, but reminds himself that buy selling them he can continue to buy more gems to make more jewelry, and the cycle continues. His hoarding has been likened to that of a dragon.
History:
Yaqon was born to very high ranking noble terror demons, and as the eldest child, had immense expectations placed upon him. His childhood, while not unpleasant, was strict and demanding, with little freedom. This didn't sit well with him, and so Yaqon began to rebel, doing everything except what his parents asked.
His love of jewelry and crafting began when his mother took him to be fitted for an outfit, and they passed by a jeweler's shop. Yaqon became enamored with the jeweler, and how he worked to delicately place glittering gemstones within a brooch to make a beautiful work of art. From that moment on, he was devoted to learning everything he could about crafting. This disgusted his parents, who did everything to discourage Yaqon from pursuing this path. Becoming a lowly craftsman was not the life for their son, and when Yaqon insisted, his parents kicked him out, turning his attention to his younger siblings.
Striking out on his own, Yaqon found it very difficult to make a living, but her convinced the very jeweler he saw that day to take him on as an apprentice. He has much to learn still, but shows incredible promise.
