Character's Name:
Zagaht
Nicknames:
None
Age:
80
Gender:
Female
Species:
Kelahati/Fire Elemental Hybrid
Abilities:
Zagaht as complete mastery over fire, being a fire elemental hybrid. She can manipulate flames around her, as well as light fires with a single glance, and is even capable of absorbing flames to increase her own power and stamina. She is capable of producing immense amounts of heat, and her flames are capable of rendering just about anything to ash. This takes quite a bit of power, however, and renders her very, very weak.
Her body can burn so hot that it becomes impossible to get close to her, rendering close combat impossible. Wind magic only intensifies her flames, though water poses a challenge.
Her kelahati magic is very diluted, and Zagaht can only tell when the soil needs replenishing. She's incapable of growing much of anything, but has been known to set fires to forests and fields long overdue for them. She can speak to animals, and finds them preferable to humans in terms of conversation partners.
Appearance:
Zagaht is truly an unusual sight to behold. As a kelahati, her humanoid form is more animal than human, looking much like a wolf on two legs, muzzle and all.. She stands at an average height of 5'10", with her form being incredibly slender and lithe. She looks rather malnourished, as her limbs are incredibly thin. Her body is covered in a layer of thin fur, a purple so deep and dark it looks black, with her belly, nose, and paw pads being a much lighter purple. Her body is covered in ornate markings in this same color on her arms, legs, and neck. Her eyes are a solid yellow color, with no discernible pupil, though she is not blind. Her long hair, burnt orange in color, is swept back into a short, thick ponytail that's constantly flowing upwards from the sheer amount of heat put off by her body. Long strands hang free, some of which are braided. Her tail is similar in color, and is long and bushy. Both her hair and her tail are constantly surrounded by a fire-like aura. While the fire produces heat, it does not burn.
The only thing she wears for clothing is a short red elbow-length poncho, which carries over into her wolf form as well.
Her wolf form is similar to her bipedal form, with the same markings, same mane color, and same fiery aura. This form is slightly larger than the average wolf would be, with long, stilt-like legs. She is constantly surrounded by a fiery aura, and is always incredibly warm.
Personality:
Zagaht is a very shy individual. Crowded places make her nervous, and even though she has a bipedal form capable of speech, she remains silent. Not from crippling shyness, but from her speech. Her mother, a fire elemental, had a very slow, drawn out speech pattern, with drawn out s sounds. Zagaht speaks much in the same way, and her embarrassment at her unusual manner of speech has rendered her a selective mute. It takes a great deal of trust in someone for her to feel comfortable speaking around them. Instead, she communicates in gestures and signs.
Earning her trust is a slow process. Her lack of speech and shyness makes it hard for her to make friends, so she often finds solace in quiet spaces. She's often very cautious and hesitant to act, and many think she's a coward for it. Zagaht just prefers to be thoughtful and deliberate, even if it means things take longer to do. Once she's made up her mind, she'll follow through on whatever it is she's set out to do. Though when things don't go according to plan, it can throw Zagaht off, and leave her scrambling to compensate.
In spite of her trouble making friends, Zagaht is a very kind, gentle soul. She is, without a doubt, a great listener, and offers great advice (provided she trusts you enough to speak). Being mute has rendered her very independent, and Zagaht rarely needs to rely on others for much of anything, save for companionship.
History:
Her mother was a fire elemental, her father a kelahati, and their marriage was a unique one to say the least. Her birth was a miracle, and from a young age it was clear that Zagaht took after her mother more than her father. Her mother began teaching her to control her flames, for her protection and for others. She has a healthy respect for flames, and understands that they are as much alive as many creatures. Her training was intense and extensive.
Zagaht has only recently set out on her own.
