Abilities:
Damien is a rather laughable excuse for a mage. He possesses both light and dark magic, and for a Tume, this is a fate worse than death. It has brought him more bad luck than anything else, and this is why Damien is known for his perpetual bad luck. Something bad always happens to him, and this doesn't even cause him distress any more. His bad luck may even be an ability--he doesn't know.

While he possesses light magic, Damien's skills with it are limited. At most all he can do it light up crystals and maybe create small orbs of light around himself. His true gifts lie in dark magic, though even this is spotty at best, thanks to his colossal bad luck. He can summon a dark mist that deprives anyone caught in it of all their senses, and disorient them, sometimes his spell even works well enough to induce fear. He's also a decent necromancer, and raises dead beasts over humans and other sentient creatures--with the exception of dragons, because a dead dragon is still as strong as a living one. His magic has a very large tendency to backfire, thanks to his bad luck, so Damien finds himself using it more to power up his staff to use as a physical weapon. The tip of his staff is a sharp, lethal point, and it's also just good for smashing things in general.

Belial is the powerhouse of the duo, and perhaps the most battle capable of the pair. The elemental holds enormous power over the elements, and raw magic in general. Claiming to be an old being, and with the power to back it up, Belial claims to be able to create tornadoes, start raging infernos, and even cast great illusions. This has yet to be seen, as the elemental only uses his magic for offensive purposes, and mostly when his host is in danger of dying. Getting Belial to contribute to a fight when Damien is not in danger is much like pulling teeth.

Appearance:
Damien is on the short end of elf height, being about six feet tall. His skin is a pale grey, making him look much more sickly than he his. Half lidded eyes and dark bags certainly don't help this, as he has a constant look of exhaustion. In spite of this, Damien is well muscled, albeit lean. His features are long and angular; even his ears are long, even for an elf. His eyes are palest blue, almost appearing white, and he has no discernible pupils. His thick black brows are constantly angled down, and he generally wears a frown, giving Damien a perpetual scowl. In spite of his black eyebrows, Damien's hair is purest white, and reaches his knees. His hair, however, never hangs straight, and is always floating about as though it has a mind of its own. This is where Belial is bound to him, and the elemental has given Damien's hair a very unearthly, and unnerving, appearance.

He doesn't wear much in the way of clothing, just a black top that covers his neck, shoulders, and upper back while leaving his pecks and abs extremely exposed. His arms are entirely covered by long gloves, the tips of which are pointed and claw-like. On the right side of his torso are wispy white markings that run from his pelvis to her chest. These marking glow when Belial uses any magic, and cause Damien some amount of discomfort. His pants are made of dark grey leather, and are extremely tight. His boots, also made of black leather, rise of to his knees, where skulls cover his kneecaps. While not overly fond of jewelry, Damien has five piercings in each ear, simply because he thinks they look cool.

Belial is a pure white spirit that is, quite literally, attached to Damien's hair. He can make the hair grow and shrink in length, but never does so in such extremes as to cause his host discomfort. He has two arms that begin fading to grey at what would be his elbows, and finally his hands are black. He wears bone armor, and from behind the bone mask of his face his three blue eyes shine brightly. It is unknown what form Belial took before being bound to Damien.

Personality:
Damien is a very dry individual. He wears a near permanent scowl, and nearly everything he says is sarcastic. His delivery is dry and fairly monotone, so it's hard to tell what he's really thinking or feeling. Mostly, he's just incredibly tired. Damien finds it hard to focus on things or people, and would much rather be on his own. While he can socialize, is drains him greatly. In spite of his constant bad luck, he's no longer phased by much of anything anymore, taking whatever life throws at him with surprising grace.

Despite not being the most social of people, Damien is polite, and can at least carry a conversation. He tries his best to look on the bright side of things, because hey, things could always be worse, right? Right? While not the most chatty of individuals, Damien displays his affection through small gestures, though he finds it difficult to get close to people in general, largely thanks to Belial, and his own bad luck. He prefers to protect others, especially from himself, as he believes disaster is never too far behind him. He's rather lonely, in truth, but keeps himself guarded out of fear.

He does bear quite a bit of resentment towards his family for disowning him, especially for something he couldn't help. His anger about a lot of things is quick to bubble to the surface, though he takes great care to take his frustration out on inanimate objects, like trees or pillows or even himself.

Belial is a mystery wrapped inside of an enigma. He likes to speak cryptically, and has a great deal of knowledge. He's arrogant in his abilities, and quick to boast to others about what wonders his powers can create. He's far more sociable than Damien, and enjoys telling stories to anyone who will listen. While Damien is selfless, Belial is the opposite. He's incredibly selfish, and puts his own needs before the needs of others. This extends into a certain protectiveness over Damien, for without his host Belial would likely fade into nothing. While he doesn't like to admit it, Belial has a certain soft spot for the elf, and tries his best to prevent the worst of Damien's bad luck from causing him too much harm.

A bit of a joker, Belial is known for playing a prank or two on unsuspecting people. His morals are also more grey, as he sees no problem stealing or making a bad decision when it benefits them.

The pair have a very complicated relationship, and the two often quarrel. They're quick to apologize and make up, as being stuck together forces them to be on somewhat decent terms.

History:
Damien has always been unlucky. Accident prone as a child, this streak of bad luck first ruined his life when it was revealed he had light magic. Thankfully Damien was old enough to fend for himself at the time--a small blessing--as he was quickly disowned and rushed out of his home in the middle of the night. In spite of this, Damien thiks he turned out okay? Maybe? He's never had anyone to compare himself to, as most Tume elves know to avoid him like the plague.

His bad luck came to a head when Damien was trying to raise a recently deceased elemental, just to prove he could. This backfired spectacularly, and instead of raising the deceased elemental, Damien found himself, quite literally, attached to one. This magic seems to have disrupted Belial's memories, as he cannot quite remember if he was dead or alive before becoming bound to Damien, but nonetheless it annoyed him, and Damien, greatly. Thankfully he remembers most other things about his life, though he keeps his secrets closely guarded, and Belial gets fragments of memories when the pair comes across something that triggers a memory.

The two have been stuck together for some three-hundred years now, desperately searching for a way to separate themselves and hopefully restoring Belial's memory in the process.
