Lia had been nuzzled in bed still where the King had left her. The only difference was her hair was still wet from a bath she had taken earlier to his arrival. The note and chocolates had been placed on a table beside her, the box open with a few pieces missing. In her lap was a book, opened up to the latest page she had been reading. As much as she hated waking to her lover no longer there, it was just part of what came when laying with a king. The small note and gift had brought a smile to her face though. It was a nice gesture to show he still cared.
The girl had just been about to turn the page when she heard the all too familiar voice of her mate. "Razzie," she cooed as her head turned to meet him as he walked in. "Yes, I'm awake love. Are you done with your duties for now or did you just come to check up on me?" She gave a warm smile as she watched to see how he'd react. Sometimes it was just a small visit to make sure she was okay, other times he was done, but then there were the times he'd have to give her bad news like him leaving.
