Just like that, Oliver was employed again. After all this time, he could finally work! And it was just in time, because he was sure that if he had gone any longer without a job, he would go crazy from the boredom, not to mention from living on the streets. Oliver enjoyed being busy and comfortable too much, but hopefully now he wouldn't have to worry about living like a beggar for a while.
He watched as Kazu rose from his desk and once again used the shadows to free himself from the prison of clutter before beckoning for Oliver to follow him out of the office. The beginning of the tour was not particularly interesting; lots of bedrooms, all unoccupied. Oliver was not exactly surprised to hear that Kazu did not have a family; what with the dangerous way of the world, it was hard to keep one around. Though, Kazu did seem a bit bothered by it, so Oliver found himself wondering why. Tragic past or just lonely? It was too soon to pry. Instead, the vampire merely nodded his head gravely, indicating his understanding.
"Any of the rooms?" Oliver repeated as several of the doors were offered to him. He scratched his beard thoughtfully as he considered his options. "Well, I'll have a look before deciding. And maybe dust while I'm at it. I'll make sure they at least appear lived in."
When asked if there was anything else he might need, Oliver came up blank. What more could he ask for? He had a job, shelter, acceptance. Oliver was a simple man; all he needed was his job and a big, fancy, comfortable mansion to do it in. Already a few bonuses had been thrown in. What else was there?
"I can't think of anything," he replied after a moment. "You've already been very accommodating, thank you. I'm sure this is the beginning of a wonderful relationship between us." He flashed a bright, charming smile. It was a good night.
